What Triangle designers publish
Most studios quote only after a call. These are the ones that put a price on their own website. Scope differs — page counts, who writes the text, what "hosting" includes — so read the small print before comparing.

Prices change. Each name links to the page we read; check it for current pricing. We left out companies that only quote on request, and pages that hadn't been updated in years.
For a national reference point, Clutch's web design pricing guide (updated September 2026, from verified client reviews) says most web design projects reviewed there cost less than $10,000 — that includes much larger sites than a typical local business needs.
What drives the price
- Number of pages. Most packages step up at 5, 10 and 20 pages.
- Who writes the words. Copywriting is often extra — one Triangle studio lists it at about $750 a page — or folded into the higher packages.
- Editing it yourself. A site you can update (WordPress, Webflow) costs more to build than a static one, but saves you paying for every change.
- Features. Online booking, ordering, payments and integrations are where "from" prices climb fastest.
- Ongoing care. Monthly plans that include updates and support cost more than hosting alone — compare like with like.
One-time builds vs. monthly plans
Some designers spread the cost: little or nothing up front, then $125–$500 a month, sometimes with a 12-month minimum. That can suit a new business with little cash. Over two or three years it usually costs more, so add it up — and ask what happens when you stop paying. Some let you keep the site and files; with others the site stays under their management.
Questions to ask before you sign
- Who owns the design, the content and the domain — and can I take them with me?
- What exactly does the monthly fee cover: hosting only, or updates and support too?
- How many rounds of revisions are included, and who writes the text?
- Can I edit menus, hours and events myself, without paying for each change?
- Is email on my own domain included?
- What does it cost after year one, and is there a minimum term?
Where our prices sit
We're a one-person studio in Durham and we work remotely, which is how we keep the build price fixed and low:
| Package | Build price | For churches & nonprofits | What it is |
|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | $750 | $637.50 | Up to 5 pages, mobile-first, contact form, search basics |
| Business | $1,750 | $1,487.50 | Up to 10 pages on WordPress, so you can edit it yourself |
| Custom | from $3,000 | from $2,550 | Booking, ordering and other integrations |
Our Starter sits at the low end of what Triangle studios publish for a five-page site; for ten-page sites, some designers charge less than our Business package, so compare what's included. Hosting is separate, from $3/mo — that's hosting only: after 30 days of free fixes, changes are quoted when you ask, with no retainer. You own the site outright. 50% is due to start and the rest at launch.
